Hey my name is Andy. I am a director & editor. This blog will keep you updated on the music video and documentary work that I do. It is a space where I will put news, behind the scene happenings, and other random stuff I think is neat. Thanks for taking the time to check it out and please feel free to contact me here.
I have always been encouraged by the ministry of The Glorious Unseen and was excited when they asked me to put together something for them. This is the result of an afternoon discussing their music followed by worship that evening. It was shot in Columbus, OH at Christ Anglican Church. It was a free event open to everyone. It was an awesome night and anyone that was there can attest to that. Thanks to John Pope for coming out and helping shoot this. I think visually it turned out really cool, but in the end I hope that the message comes through the most. A group of five guys worshiping God through honesty and music. I went ahead and put the bands youtube link up, if you prefer high quality quicktime you can view it here.
I recently went to Nashville and shot some stuff for a new non-profit called Come&Live! This is one of my favorite things I’ve had the opportunity to work on lately, and I wanted to share it. Enjoy!
This video was shot in War Of Age’s hometown of Erie, Pa. The band wanted a simple high energy video that really showcased a live performance with their hometown crowd. The shoot itself was pretty crazy with everything from a trash can being flung around, to John Pope standing in the middle of the crowd while shooting. Apparently he got clipped by someone stage diving….what a trooper. The fans are really what make this video and even though we had to regulate on some goth girls who wanted to just stand on stage and block the band it went pretty smooth. Check out the video here.
I recently got together with the dudes in A Plea For Purging and we made a video for their new single “Malevolence”. I was supposed to shoot a video with them last year but due to unfortunate circumstances it did not happen. They are cool guys and I am glad I got a second chance to work with them. This video is a mixture of cutting edge visual effect work, great dance moves, and a man who breaks a VHS tape in half with his bare hands. Vocalist Andy Atkins says, ”This will be the dumbest video you see in a long time, possibly in your entire life.” It is currently premiering on altpress.com. You can check it out here and pick up their new album now.
This is an on the road video for Tooth and Nail Records band Ruth. Ruth is based out of Washington State. I traveled with the band and shot footage throughout the mid west. I was supposed to travel all the way to Washington with them. Things didn’t go as planned and I couldn’t meet up for the rest of the trip due to a last minute scheduling conflict with a delayed flight that the band had in China ( yes, China ). Since the song is about them traveling back home we all decided it would be best if I shipped them a super 8 camera so we could get exactly that, and finish this right. In the end I think this worked out for the best. It is a combination of our two perspectives which I feel creates a more genuine video. Go here to check out new video!
